The University of Wisconsin MBA Consortium is pleased to announce the addition of Rachel Funk-Johnson to its staff, following the retirement of director and advisor Dr. Robert Erffmeyer in February. Funk-Johnson will serve as the program's first full-time advisor, focusing primarily on educational and career advising for current students, as well as recruiting prospective students and reviewing applications for admission.
"Both Bob and the Consortium administration viewed his retirement as an opportunity to reorganize the Consortium staff for the future. As our MBA program experiences continued growth, adding a dedicated advisor will better position the program to support the needs of our students," said Jessica Franson, Managing Director of the UW MBA Consortium. "Rachel's unique background and enthusiastic drive will make her an asset to the program in this role, and we're extremely excited to have her join us."
Funk-Johnson earned her bachelor of science degree in Communication from Brown College, and later her master of science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 2018. She also holds multiple yoga teaching and health coaching certifications.
After earning her undergraduate degree, she spent many years of her career in the corporate retail sector as a buyer for Macy's and Shoemall.com, before transitioning to owning her own business. Funk-Johnson is the owner of Happy Apple Therapy Center in Menomonie, Wisconsin. She previously worked at UW-Eau Claire as a Mental Health Counseling Intern, completing over 600 hours of direct contact with students. Funk-Johnson was also the lead advisor for the Alpha Tau Chapter of the Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority at Winona State University.
"I am thrilled to be continuing my academic career with the UW MBA Consortium," said Funk-Johnson. "Through this new position, we will be able to strengthen our relationships with our students even further and get them an additional layer of support as they move through their program."
Funk-Johnson began in her position on June 15. She will be reaching out to current students over the remainder of the summer providing more details on how she can provide support in this new role. |
